On 13th March 2018, Damian Hinds the Secretary of State for Education announced a 6 month extension to the closure of the Childcare Voucher scheme.
Ministers are to delay the closure of Childcare Vouchers
Childcare Vouchers were due to close to new entrants on 6th April 2018 and will now remain open for a further six months, following an announcement made in The House of Commons on 13th March 2018.
Speaking in Parliament, Damian Hinds said, “I have heard the concerns that have been raised about this and the timing, and I can confirm that we will be able to keep the voucher scheme open for a further six months to new entrants.”
An exact scheme end date is yet to be announced, but this is good news for parents that may have missed the April deadline.
